An der Frostgrenze

Anyone who ventures out into the vastness on a snowmobile, who races across the dazzling white waves of the frozen sea, is slapped in the face by the cold and hit by a few puffs of exhaust fumes from the vehicle. But it’s worth it: nowhere is the silence more complete than in the white-painted open-plan space of the tundra.

A photographic and literary work from Dikson, a so-called closed settlement. The village is located at the mouth of the Yenisei River where it flows into the Kara Sea and is one of the northernmost settlements in existence.
